The dark clouds that were threatening the sky weren't surprising. Not this time of year. The rainy season had come, so now seeing the sun would be a rare occasion. Not that Alice minded. Actually, she preferred the sun behind the clouds. She was aware of how strange that sounded; picking a rainy day over a sunny one? But it was true. Alice didn't like the sun very much, with it's blinding light and heat. Alice preferred the grey clouds that blotted out the sun's intense rays and enjoyed the feel of the raindrops on her skin. So, Alice welcomed the dark sky.
Her bare feet pounded on the ground as she made her way over to the pond. Since it was no longer freezing cold, she was able to go out for a swim without question and raised eyebrows. Most days someone came with her, but it didn't seem like that was the case today. Alice didn't mind it extremely; even she wanted to be alone once in a while.
When she arrived at her destination, she looked out at the surface. It looked like glass; smooth, perfect, and still. Well, time to change that. She removed her shirt, letting her jean shirts remain intact, revealing a grey and pink plaid bikini top. Spotting the biggest rock with ease, she quickly made her way up to the top, so she was overlooking the pond. This was the best way to celebrate the new warmth. Taking a deep breath, she dove into the pond with a splash.
