“Those who do not weep, do not see.” The day had passed like years, but even though they had passed so slowly…Addison only wished for more time. With all her thoughts in clutter, Addison had avoided most human contact for the past few days. Most of her time had been spent within the confines of the forest…away from where anyone could find her. The biggest reason she had left was to be by herself was to figure things out…but she still hadn’t figured a single thing out. Everything was still in absolute collision within her mind. She had screwed up, and because of her stupidity…she may have lost Dar’s trust too. It had taken about a day for her to really start to consider the conflict that had happened between the two Dux’s. She hadn’t planned on anything that had happened that day to have happened…it just did. Maybe it was wrong for the two to be together, but Addison didn’t know there were certain rules to her emotions and how she was to feel.
Sighing softly, Addison finally reached the Garden. It was definitely a more peaceful spot to gather all your thoughts, especially in a predicament such as Addison’s. Why had everything suddenly gotten so complicated? Would it have been better for Addison to just act like nothing ever happened? She considered it. There was far too much to lose, especially with all the children here relying on the two of them. All the frustration had built up to the point where Addison just wanted to beat her head against a rather large stone… but she wasn’t that stupid..she knew better at least.
There never seemed to be answers around here, well at least the answers that they actually needed. What were the Dux’s supposed to do with an overwhelming amount of Nova’s, also what were they supposed to do if a situation sparked between the two Dux’s. Most of Addison’s anger had subsided by now, but she still had that feeling of pain. She trusted him, she trusted him more than anyone else…And that is why it hurt her so very much. When someone you trust the very most hurts you…you break slightly. She would rather have the crap beat out of her then to face such a pain ever again, it was easily comparable to her home life when she got shoved aside by her so called “Family.”
After funning her fingers through her hair, she allowed her fingers tip to brush softly against the new flowers that seemed to be growing with the increase of warmth. Oblitus was growing to become a beautiful place, but Addison began to question where it was heading…and if it was her fault. Why had everything become so twisted so quickly?
Looking up at the sky, Addison allowed all the troubles to escape her. Whatever happened to be the best for Oblitus, would be the best for her. This was her new goal…Oblitus first and her second. There were much larger problem to handle then personal issues. Looking down at the ground now, Addison bit her bottom lip. There was so much to figure out. The sun was shining and the air was warm today, although Darrius barely noticed. His mind was elsewhere, just as it had been for the past few days. He couldn’t stop worrying, thinking, worrying, thinking. Too much had happened in such a short amount of time. One minute Addison was kissing him, the next she was yelling, and then leaving. His mind and heart ached. Dar knew he was mostly to blame for everything that had occurred a few days ago. If only he could take back the anger he used towards Addison. If only he wasn’t so fearful of fire.
His panic attacks normally followed the sight of fire, yet the past few days the attacks would come out of nowhere. Random anxiety attacks he assumed. Part of the reason, he imagined, was not being able to find Addi. She had been nonexistent in his life since the fight. It wasn’t normal for her to go missing. And I do mean missing. She wasn’t just hiding out in her room; no one really knew where she was. The morning after their fight, Darrius went to go find her to apologize. She wasn’t at breakfast and she wasn’t in her tree-house. He searched the Bibliotheca, the playground, the atrium, everywhere he could think of. She was nowhere to be found. When she didn’t turn up for lunch or dinner his anxiety increased dramatically.
He began to ask the council for answers on her whereabouts. When they turned up with nothing, Darrius went out looking for her. When he still couldn’t find her he had to just wait for her return, he wasn’t a controlling person and figured she’d come back when she was ready. Of course that didn’t stop him from being concerned. All of the stress he was experiencing was keeping him from being focused 100% on his duties to those in Oblitus. His concern for the increased numbers of Novas entering Oblitus hadn’t been erased completely, but it did drop down on his priority list.
Sighing, Darrius found himself wandering towards the gardens. He hadn’t been there in a while and they always seemed so calm and serene. He hoped his attacks would cease and Addison would finally come home. Walking on the small paths, his hands were shoved into his jean pockets and he wore a dusty blue shirt that had half-sleeves. Knowing that patching things up with Addi was going to be tough he tried to clear his mind and think of something else. Unfortunately his mind kept drifting back to her as his feet lead him through the brightly colored flowers that were already blooming. His eyes were looking down at the ground until he felt the presence of someone. A few feet in front of him Addison stood with her back turned to him. His breath caught in his throat. She was okay. At least it looked like she was physically okay. Wanting to run towards her, he thought about it and decided against it. He knew she wouldn’t be thrilled to see him after everything between them. On second thought, he chose to walk slowly and calmly up to her. He reached out his hand but was afraid to touch her; instead he kind of left it a few inches away from her arm as he spoke only her name. "Addison…”

“Those who do not weep, do not see.” So many thoughts filtered through Addison’s mind as she heard his voice. She knew that voice all too well. Her closest friends, her first crush, the one person she trusted…More than anything Addison wanted to jump up and hug Dar, but something held her back from doing so. The pain from a few days back, the yelling all came flooding back into her memory. What had even happened between the two? The two almost never argued…Which was what made the situation all the more confusing. How were you able to allow yourself such emotions like love, anger, and agony if you were supposed to be a person of high status. The joys of becoming a Dux Orphanus were bitter sweet.
A small smile crawled across the lips of Addison, and within a few more seconds she stood up to greet her dear friend. “Dar…” Addison spoke softly but then paused as if she didn’t know the right words to say. Would she apologize? Would she act as though that day had never happened? Would they just end up fighting again? Biting down on her bottom lip and pausing to look at the ground, Addison’s thoughts scattered. As the air between the two thickened, Addison tried to search quickly for ways to help the two get on better terms. But Addison knew that nothing would put them on less awkward terms until they worked the issue at hand out.
Rocking on her heals for a few brief seconds, Addison eventually looked back up at Dar. She opened her mouth as if she was about to say something, but instead, her eyes watered and the tears curled down her calm face. She tried to control the tears with her breathing but nothing seemed to work. It wasn’t a full blown break down, just a few tears but sometimes tears speak louder than anything else. Taking a slight steps closer to Dar, Addison leaned her head on his shoulder and tried to wipes the tears from her eyes quickly with her finger tips.
She saw herself crying as weak, how could someone who was supposed to take care of an entire colony cry over such a thing. An Dux Orphanus is held to such high standards that they are thought to not be able to love, but compassion is a human emotion which they were both entitled to. Addison felt as though she had made a fool of herself now though…like she had poured her heart out that night just to be shut down. The feeling was probably mutual, but Addison wasn’t even sure if Oblitus was where she needed to be anymore…She wasn’t even sure if she belonged anywhere.
Taking a few deep breaths, Addison began to regain her composure before completely losing it. But as she tried speaking, she only seemed to stutter over every word she tried to choke out. “I….I’m s-sor-sorry…” Word Count: 482 Musical Inspiration:Characters emotion:Notes:

His breath caught as she turned to face him. He couldn't begin to explain how much he had missed her the past few days. His gaze ran over her from top to bottom. She looked different. There were dark circles under her eyes, she looked like she had lost a little bit of weight, and all together her face looked dreary. The usual brightness in her eyes was missing. Her sweet smile normally found upon her face just wasn't the same. Darrius couldn't help but blame himself for this. His heart ached in seeing Addison this way. And to think it was just the result of words cutting deeper than Dar ever imagined he could. He let out a sigh and looked to the ground. There was no way in hell that just a simple apology, or even an elaborate apology, would change what happened between the two Dux Orphanus.
He tried to keep his composure as a small smile appeared on her face and her soft voice came out as a whisper. Dar… His feelings were all over the place and he didn't know what to say or what to do. It looked as though Addison was struggling as well. She looked down at the ground as the silence grew between them. It was instinct for Darrius to want to wrap his arms around her tightly to try and comfort her. He didn’t though. He was unsure of how she would react. The last time he touched her… He shuddered when he recalled that night. The fire, the yelling, the rain, and then the silence. Taking a deep breath he braced himself to try to apologize. Even though both parties were to blame for this, Dar had no right to grab Ads the way he did. It still upset him that she seemed to turn her back on him, but he didn’t want to lose her. He understood that his action was worse than hers. He knew he was going to have to be the bigger person here and admit he was wrong.
Just as he was about to begin speaking Addison looked as though she was too. He stopped to let her go first. When no words came out of her mouth, but instead tears fell from her eyes, Dar got a little teary eyed as well. When she stepped closer to him and finally leaned her head on his shoulder, a few tears fell from his eyes as well. Wrapping his arms around her securely, he tried to take in the joy of being able to have her warmth that close to him again. Resting his cheek on the top her head he closed his eyes. Dar took a deep breath as he ran a hand down her head, neck, and back. Giving her a tender squeeze, he began to rub her back in soft circular patterns. He was trying to help calm her down because he knew neither of them needed this stress. There was way too much to worry about other than that of their relationship. Lifting his head, he kissed the top of hers as she began to speak.
I….I’m s-sor-sorry… Her tears were flowing faster now and her breathing was becoming intensified. Darrius shook his head and pulled away from her slightly, taking his hand and putting it under her chin to make sure she was looking at him. He took his thumb to wipe away some of her tears, even though more just came. “Shhhh shh shh… Addison, it’s alright, it’s alright. It’s my fault too. I’m so sorry, I shouldn’t have reacted the way I did. I know I shouldn’t have. I’m sorry, it was just the fear and anger speaking and doing.. I know that’s no excuse, but still.. If I could take it back I would. I promise you that. I’m really sorry.” He said, a few more tears falling from his eyes. He hugged her tight once more before attempting to wipe some more tears from her face.
